“I have a hat too that you could have but I’m not sure how you would feel about it messing up your hair,” he told me, lips quirking up into a smile.

I wasn’t sure if he was mocking me, teasing me, or being genuine but I didn’t care.

“Gimme,” I said, sticking out my gloved hands.

He chuckled and reached into his pocket again. He pulled out an army green beanie with his name printed on the brim. I examined it for a minute. Was I really about to wear something with this strange man’s name etched on it? Then a cold blast of wind hit me in the face and my decision was made. Yes, I was. I pulled it onto my head, running my fingers through my hair sticking out beneath it. I turned to him.

“Does it look okay?” I asked.

He stared at me for a moment, lips parted slightly, and then blinked, cleared his throat, and looked away.

“Yeah,” he grunted. “It’s good.”

But this year her mom has invited a new friend and her smoking hot Army Sergeant son. Burke Graham is brooding and quiet and too delicious for bubbly Gemma to ignore, despite just how much his surly attitude annoys her.

But as the two week holiday goes on, Gemma realizes there’s much more to the silent hunk than meets the eye. Burke Graham is a gift just waiting to be unwrapped but can Gemma wait until Christmas to see what’s under his tree?

Green Card

Piper Clark married her best friend. And no, not in the way brides always say at their wedding. She married Lucas Vega because he needed a green card.

Days before graduation, Piper’s college best friend, Lucas, discovered he was being deported. Everything he had worked for, everything he dreamed of, would come crumbling to the ground unless someone intervened. So Piper did.

Six years later, they are living separate lives, having hardly spoken to one another since that fateful courthouse wedding all those years ago. But then a call from ICE has her on a plane, heading back to California and her husband, a man who traded his glasses for an Armani suit and his lithe form for a six pack.

Now, they’ve got to put on the show of their lives and pretend the past six years have been nothing but marital bliss. But something new is brewing between these best friends and Piper is starting to wonder if she’s acting at all.
